The story of Black Swap Safe Pet begins about 8 years ago when I was simply a dog owner like so many of you. I live in rural northwest Ohio on a 2 acre lot surrounded by farm ground not far from the Maumee River. My two dogs, Sam and Ruger, love to run and play in our expansive yard. The problem is, they sometimes love to chase various wildlife or the occasional passersby on a bicycle. Some of the neighbors on our road like to walk their own dogs or go for a jog, and that was what really became the major reason for my family deciding to install an underground fence. My family and I simply did not want to take the chance of something happening to our dogs if they left our property. The next part of the story involves my good friend and his pet fence installation business. I knew he had started his business some years prior and I had asked him if he could come out and give me a quote on a fence for my property. I had not considered it up to this point because I had assumed it would be too expensive based on some of the “National Brands” I had looked into. Also, doing 2 acres by hand was just not feasible and so I needed to look at other options. That’s when my friend came out and installed a system to keep my German Shorthaired Pointer and Labradoodle SAFE! This decision is still talked about by my wife and I as one of the smartest things we have done in 25 years of marriage. The peace of mind the system gave us, as well as the ease with which our dogs became trained on it, truly define the term “money well spent”. This is not where the story ends! In fact, not long after we put our system in the ground, my friend called me and asked me if I could help him with his installation business. The decision was an easy one, and it didn’t take me long to start enjoying the “process”.
